22-year-old Chandigarh girl booked for Facebook posts on policemen
Parents of a 22-year-old girl, booked for posting allegedly abusive comments on the Facebook page, on Tuesday affirmed their daughter was anguished over police not taking concrete action following the theft of her vehicle even as the Chandigarh Administration said it was taking a lenient view on the matter.
"We are looking into the case with a lenient view. At the same time, we want youngsters to be more responsible while communicating with government departments," a top official said.
"She is a young girl who lost the vehicle. Depending on the situation, we will take a balanced view, I will say a lenient view," Home Secretary Anil Kumar told reporters here.
Hoping the matter would be resolved satisfactorily, Colonel P Bakshi, father of Heena Bakshi, said his daughter was distressed over police not taking any concrete action following the theft of her vehicle.
