Rail bridge over Chenab River in Jammu & Kashmir will have a height of 359 m from the river bed level and would be the World’s highest bridge
The Railway bridge being constructed over the Chenab River in Jammu & Kashmir will have a height of 359 m from the river bed level which, according to available information, is the highest railway bridge in the world, the Parliament was informed on Friday.The estimated cost of the bridge according to the contract agreement of 2004 is Rs 512.74 crore.
The bridge falls in the Katra-Banihal section of the project which is targeted to be completed by December 2017, the Minister of State for Railways, Bharatsinh Solanki, said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha.
