HCL Infosystem rises 20% on talk of Lenovo buying stake, Latest stock price
HCL Infosystems’ stock jumped 18 per cent on the BSE on Tuesday on reports of Lenovo buying the company promoter’s 51 per cent stake at around Rs 500 crore.
The scrip rose to Rs 42.90 from the previous close of Rs 36.35.
Both companies, however, are not commenting on this development saying: “We do not comment on market rumours and speculation.”
“In compliance with corporate governance practices, HCL Infosystems informs the stock exchanges regarding any material price sensitive information,” the company said.
“We are not aware of any such development about promoter intending to sell stake in the company and as a company policy we do not comment on market speculation,” it added.
