ITC Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division (PSPD)’s expansion likely to be delayed

ITC Paperboards and Specialty Papers Division (PSPD)’s proposed expansion plans are likely to take six more months to fructify.

The company proposed to expand its capacity from 5 lakh tonnes to one million tonnes with an investment of close to Rs.3,500 crore. The expansion project has found place in the list of projects looked into by the Prime Minister’s Office for addressing hurdles in their implementation.

According to ITC PSPD division chief executive Sanjay K. Singh, the company sought 1,000 acres, a portion of it forest land, for taking up the project and the government had expressed willingness to give 800 acres.
