Large Uranium deposits found at Rohin in Sikar district,Rajasthan

India has discovered a large uranium deposits at Rohin in Sikar district,Rajasthan.

This will help India to boost its indigenous nuclear power programme. This is to be considered as India 4th largest deposit after Tummalapalle, Chitrial and Peddagattu extension in Andhra Pradesh. Total amount is around 5000 tonnes.

Its is only an intial find, we need more extensive surveys to know the depth and width of the find said Atomic Enery Comission Chairman R.K Sinha.

Currently India operates 20 nuclear power plants at 6 sites across the country with a capacity to generate 4780 MW of electricity.
